About SUPAC
On September 25, 2010 - Southern Ulster Performing Arts Company (SUPAC) held its first meeting to establish a nonprofit company that would serve our community in the performing arts. After much work, commitment, and dedication to the purpose, SUPAC received its nonprofit status less than two years later.
SUPAC was established to share the talents of SUPAC members with the community by providing participants with opportunities for performance and leadership experiences through community service projects designed to encourage, promote, and enhance the art of dance education and the performing arts.
Our home is in the Southern Ulster Center for the Arts (SUCA) located in Marlboro, New York. The building has our offices, two state-of-the-art dance studios, and a practice studio with a piano. The building is also home to Madelines' Dance Center, which hosts dance lessons, workshops, performance teams, and camps.
We continue to work on building our membership base to serve our community better. Grants and fundraising efforts also support our programs throughout the year.
One of our many goals is to share the talents of SUPAC members with the community by providing participants with opportunities of performance and leadership experiences through community service projects designed to encourage, promote and enhance the art of a performing arts education; to provide participants with opportunities for engaging therein, and to provide access to information and training in the skills and techniques thereof; to promote physical fitness, self-confidence and a feeling of accomplishment among the participants through community service; to promote a sound and caring instructional environment for participants to continue on the educational path of an artistic education by providing after school and summer care for a variety of disciplines.
We are excited to announce that beginning in September of 2024, the Southern Ulster Performing Arts Center will also be home to an after-school program that provides care to children of all income levels as we continue to make affordable quality classes available for all students with a passion for learning.
